Bridging the Digital Divide with an Offline On-Device Assistant
As of the end of 2021, 55% of the global population used mobile internet. By the end of 2023, this figure rose to 58%. Despite this increase, 42% of the global population still lacks internet access, resulting in only a 3% growth in mobile internet usage over the two-year period.
According to the GSMA 2023 report, 3.5 billion people remain unconnected, highlighting the urgent need to address the digital divide intensified by the pandemic. Despite progress in network coverage, a significant usage gap persists, preventing many from accessing digital services.
This project aims to provide an assistive technology solution designed to promote digital literacy and improve the Human Development Index (HDI). It will serve as an educational assistant, training individuals on how to use devices in their local language.
As society increasingly depends on technology for communication, education, commerce and jobs, individuals without digital skills face significant disadvantages. The On-Device Assistant can be installed on mobile devices to act as an educational Assistant to help users navigate mobile device confidently. This initiative will equip individuals with essential digital skills and enhance their employability in the digital economy.
Access to the internet in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) can open doors to business services, resources, and information. Offline On-Device assistant provides instant support 24*7 in the local language, making the digital learning experience both engaging and effective.
By providing essential educational resources, this assistive technology promotes digital inclusion, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
By engaging in strategic CSR collaborations, businesses can significantly contribute to building a more equitable society. This commitment lays the groundwork for a future where everyone has the opportunity to fully participate in the digital economy. We are seeking partnerships with enterprises that can fund devices through CSR initiatives for a joint effort.
Together, we can create a world where digital opportunities are accessible to all, unlocking potential and driving innovation for a brighter tomorrow.
